The Wine Route winds its way through Alsace, from Marlenheim in the north to Thann to the south, à through the hills of the vineyards for more than 170 kilometresètres, on the eastern foothills of the Vosges.
More than 300 wineries and 49 of the 51 grands crus are grouped together on this route. Of the 119 wine-producing communes in Alsace, 67 are on the Alsace Wine Route route.
An enchanting route alternating between the undulating patterns of the vines grown on the 7 Alsace vineyards of distinction (Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Sylvaner, Gewurztraminer, Muscat & Riesling) and flower-filled villages with narrow streets and inimitable houses huddled around their bell towers. A veritable cornerstone of Alsace's cycling network, the Vignoble Loroute, a parallel route to the Alsace Wine Route, takes in the Alsace wine-growing countryside from Marlenheim to Thann, following the route of the EuroVelo 5 Via Romea Francigena.
