Stretching for nearly 80 kilometres across the peaks of the Vosges, the Route des Crêtes links the Col du Bonhomme to the Grand Ballon, amongst other places. This iconic route offers some of the most beautiful panoramic views of the landscapes of Alsace and the Vosges, amongst forests, burnt-out fields and valleys.
Accessible by car, motorbike or bicycle, the Route des Crêtes is also a wonderful playground for hiking enthusiasts. Numerous trails allow you to explore the Vosges peaks, high-altitude lakes and the unspoilt landscapes of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park. In summer, the mountain ridges offer magnificent views and are ideal for hiking; in winter, certain areas take on a completely different character, best explored on foot or with snowshoes, depending on the conditions.
