Created in 1975, the Parc naturel régional des Vosges du Nord covers 111 communes split between the Bas-Rhin and Moselle departments. It stretches over 127,000 hectares in a triangle between Wissembourg, Sarreguemines and Saverne.
Located on the frontiere of the Massif Vosgien, this classified Biosphere Reserve is characterised by the diversity of its natural landscapes and traditional villages.

The Vosges du Nord Regional Nature Park is home to rich fauna and flora, such as lynx, falcons and orchids, and varied natural environments.
The area is criss-crossed by the Maginot Line and dotted with 35 fortified castles, museums, archaeological sites and a typical architectural heritage: half-timbered houses, pink stone walls and traditional roofs.
