The Palais Rohan, Strasbourg

Home to 3 museums

The Palais Rohan is located in the city centre of Strasbourg, adjacent to the cathédrale. It has been classified as a historic monument since 20 January 1920.

Today, the Palais houses three museums:

  • The museum of Decorative Arts, a museum located on the ground floor of the Palais Rohan, the former residence of the Prince of Alsace
  • .
  • Le musée des Beaux-Arts,
  • Le eacute;e archéologique: the oldest of Strasbourg's museums, it is installed in the basement of the bâtiment. The museum houses major collections, making it one of the richest in France. Here you can discover the history of Strasbourg and Alsace from prehistoric times to the dawn of the Middle Ages. Thousands of objects recount the history and evolution of the civilisations that have succeeded one another on Alsatian soil.
