Gîtes du Holzweg-Les Cigognes

This beautiful village on the Alsace Wine Route offers you a stay in the heart of the Alsatian vineyards on a hillside between the wooded Vosges mountains and the Rhine plain; its dominating view offers you beautiful vantage points. With its naturally pinkish-beige Renaissance buildings, Mittelbergheim has preserved its character over the centuries. Its architectural heritage has earned it a ranking as "one of the most beautiful villages in France" and second place in the France 2 programme "le village préféré des français" (the French people's favourite village) presented by Stéphane Bern. This village combines the advantages of being well served and accessible with being unspoilt. Halfway between Strasbourg and Colmar, it's an ideal location for exploring the whole of Alsace: its castles, towns and villages, museums, vineyards and gastronomy! Numerous restaurants and wine producers are close by, and all around the village there are paths that invite you to go for a walk or a bike ride.
