Real name Mattieu Tota, born 26 September 1985 in Strasbourg, is the son of former Strasbourg professional footballer André Tota. In 2003, with his group Linkup, he took part in the TV show Popstars, broadcast on M6. The group came out on top in the 2003 edition, but only a few months later the members of the group officially announced that they were disbanding. Matthieu Tota then seized the opportunity to launch a solo career under the name of M Pokora. Having Polish origins, he chose Pokora, which means "humility" in Polish. He has won a number of awards in the course of his career, including the Eska Music Awards for International Pop Artist of the Year in Poland in 2009, as well as a number of prizes in France for his work as a singer;He also picked up a number of awards in France at the NRJ Music Awards, where he won two trophies in 2011, for Francophone Song of the Year and Francophone Artist of the Year.
