Jean-Jacques Waltz (Hansi)

Jean-Jacques Waltz, known as Hansi, painter and illustrator, was born on 23 February 1873 at 41 rue des Clefs in Colmar. He died Colmar on 10 June 1951.  After Hange's death in 1923, Hange succeeded his father as curator of the Musée Unterlinden and took over one of his manuscripts on Alsatian héraldic art. With Berger Levrault, he published three volumes (1938, 1939, 1949), a landmark work in the field.
